Brief: Create a looping animation inspired by a song.
For this project, I animated to "Mormor" by the Swedish band Dina Ögon – a song about memories, relationships, and the bond between a child and her grandmother.I was inspired by the opening lyric: "Varenda en har sitt universum" (Everyone has their own universe). I interpreted it as a reflection on how we all carry our own worlds shaped by our experiences.
As children, we see our grandmother simply as mormor, but as we grow, we realize she has a life full of untold stories. In my animation, a grandchild explores their grandmother’s universe. An astronaut through a cosmos filled with symbols of her grandmothers life. Memories take shape as stars, gradually turning into photographs that reveal glimpses of her past and the richness of her experiences.
