Packaging Design
Studentcase Berghs SoC x Pond x ICA

Brief: Create a Packaging Design concept for ICA Selection Premuim 2.0.

Concept: Dimensions of Flavour.
Our concept is driven by the pursuit of exceptional taste experiences. By combining well-known products with unexpected flavor profiles, we introduce a new era of taste that defines ICA Selection 2.0.
Our design approach is rooted in typography and color. Typography is the primary visual carrier — with hand-drawn, custom lettering for each product to reflect the product’s essence. 

Color also plays a crucial role our design. We draw inspiration from the raw ingredients—exploring their depth and dynamics from surface to core. In flavor enhancers, we amplify contrasts to make them stand out on the shelf.

To enhance taste perception, we incorporate minimalistic illustrations of ingredients. These serve both as visual storytelling elements and educational tools, especially for unfamiliar products.
We have selected packaging types based on three categories to align with our concept:

  1. Layers (dimensions) – Packaging that plays with surfaces and layering, such as a paper sleeve. Different textures and materials create depth, engaging multiple senses by offering a tactile and visual experience.
  2. Flavor Windows – Transparent windows in the packaging allow consumers to see the product, stimulating the senses and enticing them to taste.
  3. Aluminum Packaging – Chosen for its ability to preserve aromas and flavors over time, ensuring a premium taste experience.




Smoked sea salt typography has sharp edges, 
reminiscent of salt crystals.
MezzeLune features soft, rounded 
letterforms that mirror the pasta texture.
Tepache lettering visualizes the organic
 fermentation process of pineapple.



Our logo, designed as a stamp, serves as a "sign of approval" for ICA’s premium selection. It overlaps with headline typography, reinforcing the concept of layered "Dimensions of Taste."
